A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Opera North

A sprinkle of fairy dust and a dash of silver lashes (shhh! Don’t ask about the lashes!!) — several talented Scala Kids appeared as fairies in Opera North’s enchanting production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by the brilliant Martin Duncan. A magical experience for all involved!

The Dumping Ground – CBBC

Moses Amedzro brought effortless cool to the role of Jimi in two series of the hugely popular, BAFTA-winning CBBC drama The Dumping Ground. Relaxed, funny, and full of heart – it was as if the role was written just for him!

Wider Than Sky

Scala’s Willow Bell picked up the well deserved award for Best Young Female Actor in “Wider Than Sky” at the 2023 Birmingham Film Festival. An incredible performance in a very touching film.

Princess Mirror-Belle – CBBC

Scala’s Amber MIdgley has been in our Musical Theatre classes for years. Last year she decided to try our drama workshops, and here she is cast as “Rachel” in her first ever casting – that’s how you do it!

Midwich Cuckoos – Sky TV

Dexter Ansell originally auditioned for the role of a Cuckoo in this terrifying TV drama from Sky TV. We were a little relieved when he was cast as a David Saunders – a sweet little village child…little did we know!

Scalakid Olivia stars in this promo movie for Opera North’s Tour. Well done Olivia.

All Creatures Great and Small

Scala’s Imogen plays Jenny Alderson. Little sister of James Herriott’s love interest Helen, played by Rachel Shelton, in Channel 5s fab revival. Starring Sam West as Siegfried, Callum Woodhouse as Tristan and Nicholas Ralph as the well loved Yorkshire Vet James. Imogen loved her time on the farm – but dont mention the ferret!

A Very Yorkshire Christmas – Isla Cooke

6 year old Isla played Katie in this Christmas movie for Hallmark Film. She had a wonderful time making cakes, meeting Santa and decorating trees with Michelle Dotrice. This Christmas movie will run and run on the Hallmark Channel.
